Signs – John 2:13-25

Sunday, October 2: Signs

John 2:13-25

This week we peek into the past as Jesus enters the temple during Passover. When you read that sentence, where does your mind go? What are you picturing? Well, whatever you think of when you hear “enter the temple during Passover…” you need to make it bigger in your mind’s eye. The temple grounds were big. Like 75,000 people can fit big. The livestock area at the fair? That’s what the temple grounds smelled and sounded like. Oh, and you should also throw in the bazaar you would buy souvenirs from when visiting a foreign country. All of those sounds were there too.

So what is it about this temple scene that causes Jesus to have righteous anger? What causes him to make a whip and drive out the animals and money changers? What is it about sacrifices and the temple that was so upsetting to God?

Find out this Sunday, as we look at another sign Jesus gives to show us that he is the Son of God, who offers life to all.

Service times are at 9:30 & 11:00. If you can’t make it in person, you can watch live at those times.
