Ruth 3
I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again.
There are certain days you remember for the rest of your time on earth. Milestones on the paved road of life that get cemented into your brain. Some are joyful memories surrounding events with friends and family. Others are painful memories, surrounding loss. If you are married or have been married, one major memory you may recall with vivid detail is your engagement. I have heard some wild engagement stories in my day, and I am sure Ruth and Boaz told their own story countless times to their kids and grandkids in the years to come.
How will this widowed foreigner become the wife of Bethlehem’s most eligible bachelor? It’s a tail to remember, full of sneaking around at night, beautiful analogies, and risky little games. Naomi comes up with a wild plan for Ruth to find a place in her future husband’s home. Will it work?
On Sunday we will see how God worked in the lives of people thousands of years ago, and how He is still working in our lives today.
