Psalms – Psalm 133

Sunday, August 11: Psalms

Psalm 133

We’re going to be continuing our sermon series on the Psalms and looking at Psalm 133, a brief Psalm on the goodness of unity.

There are familiar adages that say, “Two heads are better than one.” or “United we stand, divided we fall.” We get that it’s better not to go at it alone, but what does the Bible have to say about it.

Well, in many ways, and in many metaphors, the Bible describes unity as very good. Both pleasant to be a part of and good for us. We’re made in the image of a relational God, we’re made for participation in relationship, and the church especially was made to be in unity.

Our Psalm this week describes the blessing that unity is, and we’ll spend some time talking about how the unity within the church is not only essential to our survival, but the demonstration that we are truly disciples of God.

See you Sunday!
