Living Stones – 1 Peter 3:8–22

Sunday, May 22: Living Stones

1 Peter 3:8–22

I’m not sure when the expectations of our culture started, but we somehow think that “we are all supposed to be happy all the time” and if we are not, then try to fix it so the pain goes away. No one is living a life absent of suffering. Suffering is real, and it stems from all sorts of root causes. We sin, we suffer. We mind our own business, we suffer. We get married, we suffer. We have a job, we suffer. Heck, I was talking to someone this week who got asked a bunch of hard apologetics questions… while in the sauna at the gym! He suffered for 45 minutes sweating away those answers.

This week we continue our series “Living Stones” as we explore 1 Peter and look at how we as Christians can conduct ourselves while suffering for Jesus.

Our goal is to acknowledge that suffering is real, it exists, and we as Christians, are being watched by the world around us to see how we stand under the circumstances.

Want to know what gives us hope? Then see you Sunday! (it’s probably gonna be Jesus… we are a church for heaven’s sake).

Service times are at 9:30 & 11:00. If you can’t make it in person, you can watch live at those times.
