Living Stones – 1 Peter 4:1–11

Sunday, May 29: Living Stones

1 Peter 4:1–11

As we’ve moved through our series, Peter’s letter has picked up a familiar cadence. After an instruction regarding who we are in Christ, he quickly makes it practical. (“Therefore” seems to be one of his favorite words.) Since this is the case, therefore we live this way. Because we know this to be true, therefore here’s what it looks like to live faithfully.

This week Peter continues to build on the idea that in light of Jesus, how we live is going to be significantly different. Like caterpillars freshly out of cocoons, we’re no longer the creatures we once were, even when the world around us tries to get us to act like it.

Not only are we no longer what we once were in light of Jesus, who we will yet one day become is promised and secured because of Jesus. As a people somewhere between freshly out of a cocoon and soaring in the sky, we are going to look very different from the world around us. At least, we will if we can remember who we are, and what we are becoming.

Join us this week as we discuss lives lived in light of Jesus, and in the hope that Jesus has given to us.

See you Sunday!

Service times are at 9:30 & 11:00. If you can’t make it in person, you can watch live at those times.
