Find God. Be a Friend. Make a Difference.

Lord of All – Acts 8:4–40

Sunday, October 7: Lord of All

Acts 8:4–40

I hope you are looking forward to Sunday as much as I am. There is something special about gathering together with God’s people in corporate worship. We encounter God in many ways during the week, but corporate worship remains a category of its own.

This week, we are going to be in Acts 8 and we are going to contrast two men looking to encounter God. Both hear the gospel. Both respond positively. But only one of them is received favorably, while the other finds himself in danger of God’s judgment. What was the difference?

Part of it was motivation. One of the guys was looking for what God could give him. The other was looking for God.

Fortunately for us, God doesn’t hide. He seeks us. He finds us. He calls us and He invites us to his table. And in Christ, we don’t have to be afraid.

Join us this week as we look at Acts 8 and encounter Jesus, who tore down the barrier between God and people. See you on Sunday!
