Champs and Misfits – Hebrews 10:26-39

In Luke 12:35-46, Jesus tells this story about a guy who goes off to a wedding and leaves some servants in charge of his house. Jesus said that foolish servants would take advantage of their master’s extended vacation and think, “party time!” After all, if the master returned to a scene from Animal House, things would not go well for those servants. But, Jesus continued, wise servants would be faithful. They would know that the master could come at any minute, and they would want to be ready.

Now, Jesus told this story for us. Because He knew that the hardest times to follow Him are when we feel that the master has been away a long time, and we aren’t sure He’s coming back.

Have your prayers ever gone unanswered?

Have you ever suffered for a long time with no relief from God?

Have you ever wondered if maybe God forgot about you?

Those are the toughest times to stay faithful, and that’s where the Hebrews were. But in Hebrews 10:26-39, the preacher reminds them: God is faithful. He sees your tears. He knows your pain. He hasn’t forgotten. Jesus is coming for you, so keep the faith.

Join us this week as we look at Hebrews 10:26-39 and discover how to stay faithful when it seems like God has forgotten.

See you then!
