Kingdom Ethics – Sexuality

Sunday, July 25: Kingdom Ethics

Sexuality

As we continue to consider what a Kingdom Ethic is, what it means to live a life informed by God’s word, empowered by his Holy Spirit, and as ambassadors to his Kingdom, there are many places where we can joyfully recognize similarities with the world around us.

This week is not one of those places.

A Kingdom Ethic of sexuality may or may not be the most prominent departure we take as Christians from the world around us in this series, but it’s for sure up there. Ongoing debates, and deep-rooted cultural disagreements about the purpose, source, and use of our sexuality makes it very easy for us to forget that sexuality is not a bad thing, and is in fact, a gift given to us by God.

However, as is often the case, it’s in the misuse of God’s good gifts that we get into trouble, and it’s often the very good things that can become idols for us.

Join us this week as we stretch ourselves a bit to explore God’s gift to us, the misuses of that gift, and the call we have as the people of God.

See you Sunday.

Service times are at 9:30 & 11:00. If you can’t make it in person, you can watch live at those times. We no longer have an 8:00 online service.
