Galatians 6:1–18

In Galatians 5, Paul sets before us two paths. The first path involves putting confidence in our own flesh and ability to follow God’s Law.

This path does not end well.

The second path is the path of the Spirit. It involves walking in the Spirit, keeping in step with the Spirit, and going where God leads us. The fruit of this path is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, and self-control.

Now, any time you introduce paths like these, you introduce a risk: the risk of comparison.

We love to compare ourselves to others—how we’re better and where we don’t measure up.

But comparison will kill us. It will kill us.

In Galatians 6:1–18, Paul shows us a better way. Instead of becoming conceited, provoking one another and envying one another (5:26), Paul challenges us to bear one another’s burdens. This means that when we see someone fail, we don’t rejoice in their struggle or pat ourselves on the back for not struggling the same way. Instead, we help restore them.

It’s the better way.

Join us this Sunday as we close out the Book of Galatians and bring our focus back to Christ.

See you then!

Service times are at 9:30 & 11:00. If you can’t make it in person, you can watch live at those times. We no longer have an 8:00 online service.
