Songs and Sayings- Psalm 90 (7/27/25)

This week, we’ll continue our summer series, Songs and Sayings, where we delve into the Psalms and Proverbs for wisdom that can guide our lives. We’ll focus on a prayer of Moses, the man of God, and examine his prayer and the requests he made.

Moses stands out as an ideal figure to listen to when it comes to understanding God’s character. He had a direct and intimate relationship with God, akin to a friend speaking to another (as seen in Exodus 33:11). As his life drew to a close, he gifted us this prayer, which serves as a beacon of wisdom for us to follow. At the heart of his prayer lies a profound plea: “So teach us to number our days, that we may get a heart of wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12) But what does it truly mean to “number our days”?

I’ve been alive for 16,231 days. Does knowing that make me wise? And how does God play a role in helping me understand how to “number” my days? This Sunday, we’ll explore this prayer and discover how we can walk with Jesus on the path of wisdom in our lives.
