Questions of Jesus – Luke 8:43–48

Sunday, July 15: Questions of Jesus

Luke 8:43–48

And Jesus said, “Who was it that touched me?”
When all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the crowds surround you and are pressing in on you!”
But Jesus said, “Someone touched me, for I perceive that power has gone out from me.”

Luke 8:45

What does it mean to really connect with Jesus? Not to just know things about him, or to affirm doctrinal positions, but to reach out in faith and touch him?As we continue our series, “The Questions of Jesus,” we’ll look at the passage in Luke 8 where a woman reaches out in faith to touch Jesus. In the midst of a crowd, Jesus recognizes that the woman has reached out to him in faith and is healed. He turns and asks, “Who touched me?”

Maybe you’re like the woman who reached out to Jesus, in need of healing, or maybe you feel more like one of the crowd, near to Jesus but not really in touch with him. At different times, admitting what we need may be the hardest part of coming to Jesus.

Join us this week as we explore what it means to acknowledge our need, to reach out in faith, and to be changed.
