Christmas Service

Sunday, December 18: Christmas Service

Ephesians 1:3–10

Christmas is coming!

I know it seems like it is still a long ways off, but this Sunday is actually the last Sunday before Christmas. It’s almost here!

Leading up to Christmas, we have been studying the Book of Ephesians. This is fitting because the book is all about the intersection between heaven and earth and how God is demonstrating his victory over evil through the church. Those everyday things that you are stressing about leading up to Christmas? They matter in the battle for kingdom of God!

While we finished our series on Ephesians last week, we are going to return to the book one more time to connect it to Christmas. In Ephesians 1:3-10, Paul reminds us of the cosmic significance of Christmas. He tells us that God’s plan was to unite all things in Jesus—things in heaven and things on earth (v. 10). In the birth of Jesus, we see the beginning of a reconciliation movement.

God has a plan for history. He is overcoming sin, death, and evil, and reuniting us to Himself. The victory is assured; and all because God became one of us.

Join us this week as we worship God through beloved Christmas songs and reflect on the reconciling work that began in Bethlehem 2000 years ago.

See you on Sunday!
