The Gospel: Outside These Walls

Believers Fellowship has a heart to serve. Not only do we support missionaries and partner with organizations, our church body takes the gospel out of our building, to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

In June during the Middle School Family Mission Trip, families serve in various ways, up and down the I-5 corridor. From cleaning up parks to serving the homeless in Seattle, Believers Fellowship Student Ministries partners with parents to model a servant’s heart to their kids. The days are full of service, and the evenings are full of worship. Families serve in as many places as possible, and gather back together in the evening for meals, worship, teaching, and fun.

This July, TWO mission teams are heading out to serve internationally! The High School Ministry will be returning to Guatemala to serve with Tree Ministries. They will build a house for a family, lead kid’s ministry, and do home visits- where they will share the gospel and donate a water filter. This trip helps the participants see how big God is and build solid community with their peers. BF will also send a team with Food for the Hungry (FH) to Bolivia. Believers Fellowship has been serving with FH for over 12 years, partnering with them to meet the communities greatest needs. This trip includes home visits to sponsored children, opportunities to participate in kids’ ministry, and assisting with the yearly project. This year’s project focuses on bringing sustainable fruit trees to the community, creating both jobs and food.

Believers Fellowship organizes group trips, but individuals and couples in our church body also go beyond our borders to share the love of Christ, following through with their conviction and passion to serve Jesus. Kevin and Dana McClain recently spent two weeks in Kenya doing dental clinics and medical checkups. Paul and Lucy Spadoni spent a few weeks in Rome, sharing the gospel with hikers trekking to the Vatican. Chad and Michelle Van Someren are spending three weeks as a family in Africa, preaching at churches and participating in ministry. Dick and Bo Teodoro, along with Dave and Marlys Johnson, returned to Cuba to share the gospel and train families on how to get clean water.

It is incredibly encouraging to see so many people invest in God’s kingdom outside of Gig Harbor. Where have you seen people step out in faith to serve?
