Heidi Kempston

Heidi has been working in Children’s Ministry at Believers Fellowship since June of 2009. She spent many years learning from Joan Albert, until Joan’s retirement at the end of 2019. Heidi began as the Director of Children’s Ministry in January, 2020.

Heidi plans and prepares the curriculum for the older preschool and Kindergarten age children. She also helps organize events that Children’s Ministry puts on. Heidi earned a degree in Early Childhood Education at Point Loma Nazarene University. She went on to teach preschool locally in Gig Harbor for a number of years. She loves working with young children and teaching them all about God’s love.

Heidi has attended Believers Fellowship since she was a sophomore in high school and loves bringing her own children to the same church in which she grew up. You will see Heidi on Sunday mornings helping children get settled in the right classrooms, teaching a class or supporting our awesome volunteers!

What is your favorite book (outside of the Bible)? Why?

My favorite book is Sarah, Plain and Tall by Patricia McLachlan. It is a children’s book with vivid imagery and endearing conversations between characters.

If you had a day completely to yourself (and you weren’t allowed to do something responsible), what would you do?

If I had a day to myself I would sleep in, take my favorite book with me to a coffee shop, go shopping, eat a delicious meal at my favorite restaurant and head home to catch up on Netflix.
