Hebrews 11 Hall of Faith- Judges

The author of Hebrews faces a problem that every preacher faces. “If I had more time I could tell you of...”  

The passage this week (and next) moves from the faith of well-known figures (Noah, Abraham, Sarah, and Moses) to a rapid-fire list of ordinary people who had faith and were used by God.   

There is much to be said about this section in the Hall of Faith. It tells of folks who actually showed very little faith, yet God still honored that mustard-seed-sized faith.

These people had faith during scary times. They needed to trust God during war, raids, and invasions by armies that wanted their land, wealth, and women. These heroes had to trust God's word that He would provide a way.   

This may not seem very applicable to our lives until we realize that we have an enemy with whom we are at war.  An enemy who wants to kill, steal, and destroy our lives.
