What does your heart do when you hear those words? Did you study? Do you
retain the knowledge that your teacher tried to impart? Does your heart
pound with test anxiety?
Or, when you hear the word test, do you think of something else? Maybe you
are so far past the school test mentality that you think of other
things. Things like, I need to test the battery, test the structure to
bear weight, or test the tie-down on your truck load so you can say
“that's not going anywhere.”
Whatever you think of when you hear the word test, it’s probably different than
the test Abraham went through with his son Isaac.
This week in our Hall of Faith series, we are still talking about Abraham’s
faith. Abraham was willing to trust God when he left all he had and
traveled to a new land. Sarah was able to have faith in God that she
would bear a son, even in her old age.
But now comes the testing of Abraham’s faith and trust in God, in a way we could never imagine.
