Habakkuk 3: 3-16

As we read chapter three in Habakkuk we notice that it's a song. When we listen to songs from different cultures we have to do some work on our part to understand them.
Take national anthems, for example. When someone hears the first stanza of the USA's anthem, they may be a bit lost. They might not realize the context and history behind seeing a battle and then the victory the day after. Another example is Germany’s anthem. At first glance, we may not see the disunity Germans faced within their own borders or the call to brotherhood and unity expressed. It takes a bit of research to truly appreciate the song.
In Habakkuk 3, we see a beautiful anthem written to remind the nation of who God is. Let's unpack God's past faithfulness so we can recognize his faithfulness in the present.
