Exodus 33

December 27, 2025

On this Sunday we’ll be opening our Bibles to Exodus 33:12–18—a passage that meets us right in the middle of a familiar tension.

This time of year has a way of piling things onto our hearts and minds. There’s pressure to make moments meaningful, to finish strong, to look ahead and ask “What’s next?” For some, that comes with excitement. For others, it comes with anxiety, fatigue, or the quiet fear of repeating past failures.

In Exodus 33, God’s people are standing at a crossroads of their own. They’ve been rescued. They’ve seen God move. And yet—they’re unsure what lies ahead. Moses knows what God has called them to, but he also knows he can’t do it alone. So he asks a bold, honest question: “Who will go with us?”
What unfolds is a beautiful reminder that God doesn’t simply call us and send us—He goes with us.

This passage doesn’t magically fix everything or give us a neat checklist for the future. But it does offer something deeper: peace rooted in God’s presence. A God who draws near. A God who says, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or simply tired as this season comes to a close, this Sunday is for you. We’ll look at what it means to move forward—not with all the answers—but with the confidence that God Himself goes with us.
