Ephesians Intro

We open a new sermon series this week—Ephesians. This short, New Testament letter is laid out in two parts; who we are and how we live.

The first three chapters will teach us about our identity as adopted children of God. Chapters 4-6 will explain how to live out our identity in our daily lives. Five times in this book Paul uses the phrase “walk.” This letter truly shows us how to walk in Christ. People often look at how we ought to live…but fail to realize the biblical truths of who and whose we are. We cannot live out chapters 4-6 without first grounding ourselves in our new identity in Christ.

This week we open the book by looking at one of the longest sentences Paul ever wrote. We will hammer home some solid truths about God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Even though the Bible never mentions the word “trinity”, we see the teaching of it through out Ephesians. We will see what it means to be blessed by God, and just how rich that blessing truly is.
