Christ At The Crossroads - Miracles

How would you answer the following questions about miracles? (A miracle defined as divine intervention in a humanly impossible situation.)
• Have you ever asked God for a miracle?
• Have you ever witnessed a miracle?
• Have you ever prayed for a miracle and been disappointed?
• Could you use a miracle right now?
Unless I miss my mark, I suspect all of us could answer at least one of these questions in the affirmative. I’ve asked them to make a point: the matter of miracles is a significant aspect of life and faith for followers of Jesus. It’s not uncommon for us to be blindsided by unexpected moments in life — unmarked intersections we could not predict — where we deeply desire divine intervention. This week, we meet Christ at the Crossroad of Miracles. In the second chapter of John’s Gospel, we read about Jesus’ first — and relatively famous — miracle: turning water into wine. It’s a strange miracle when you stop and think about it. He never performed another miracle quite like it. The rest involved calming storms, casting out demons, healing the sick, and even raising the dead. Nevertheless, it served as the prototype for every miracle that followed and offers insight into how we should think about divine intervention.
