This is the letter read to Believers Fellowship regarding the resignation of Jeremiah Hinton. A video of the announcement from Sunday, November 19 is below.
To the congregation of Believers Fellowship,
Recently, the elders received some sad news that we want to share with you.
The elders have learned that our much-loved Jeremiah Hinton has decided to step down from serving at Believers Fellowship. His last day will be December 31st. (read Jeremiah’s letter)
Jeremiah’s voice from the pulpit will be dearly missed. We all recognize his giftedness in both preaching and pastoral care. His relational capacity to lead people in their walk with God in various settings has been invaluable for the growth of disciples in God’s Kingdom.
The elders recognize what Jeremiah has brought to our attention and believe that these are areas of growth that we have overlooked. We are learning to handle conflict in a more swift and direct manner. We are truly sorry it has come to this, and we are seeking growth in this area. The elders have appointed Johnny Pearson to be Staff Director to lead us through a clear staff alignment around vision, and attention to the fostering of a healthy staff culture. We will strive for authentic community in relationships at every level. Please be in prayer for the staff and the leadership of your church during this time of transition. And know that we will be in prayer for you as well as we mourn and hope together. As always, the elders welcome any questions, concerns, or feedback.
Our confidence is in our God and great is His faithfulness. We rally around Jesus. We remain hopeful for the future that He has for us–as individuals and as a church.
Seeking Grace and Peace,
