Plowshares and Pruning Hooks – Joel

Sunday, June 12: Plowshares & Pruning Hooks

Joel

When was the last time you heard a sermon on the wrath of God?

It’s not on the list of “felt needs” that you typically hear addressed in church. In fact, I get a little uncomfortable thinking about it. I bet you do, too.

Regardless of how we feel about it, the Scriptures are clear that God is moved to wrath on occasion. But you know, this is a good thing. In fact, the universe would be much worse off if it weren’t for the wrath of God.

This week we are going to continue our sermon series on the Minor Prophets by looking at the Book of Joel. Joel wrote to the nation of Judah about the wrath of God and the Day of the Lord. Despite what you might be thinking right now, it’s a pretty cool book.

Join us this week and I promise you two things: (1) You will have a new appreciation for the wrath of God, and (2) you will have a new appreciation for God himself.

See you on Sunday!
