Who is This Man – John 17:9–23

Sunday, July 30: Who is This Man?

John 17:9–23

Jesus the High Priest/New Aaron

Do you pray for your children? If you do, what do you pray? Maybe you pray for their health or safety. Maybe you pray that they’ll make good decisions. Maybe you pray that they’ll make good friends or find a good spouse. Whatever it is that you pray for them—when you pray for your children you pray with love and conviction.

Did you know that there is someone praying for you, right now? No, not your mom (although she might be, too). Jesus is praying for you. Right now. Hebrews 7:25 says, “Consequently, [Jesus] is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.”

Jesus is praying for you. Curious about what he is praying for you?

This week, we will continue our summer series called Who Is This Man? by looking at Jesus’ high priestly ministry. Jesus is the new Aaron, and as the new Aaron, he makes intercession with the Father on behalf of his people. We’re going to look at his “high priestly prayer” in John 17.

Jesus is praying for you. Join us this week to find out what he’s praying!

See you on Sunday!
