Hebrews 13:1–25

If you have never read The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis you really should get around to it. It’s an imaginary story centered on a group of children who encounter Christ – except in the fictional world of Narnia, Jesus is represented by a huge lion, named Aslan. In one scene Lucy has not seen Aslan for some time, but he comes to her shining white and huge in the moon light…

“Welcome child,” he said.
“Aslan,” said Lucy, “you’re bigger.”
“That is because you are older, little one,” he answered.
“Not because you are?”
“I am not. But every year you grow, you will find me bigger.”
As we grow in our faith, over time, Jesus becomes bigger to us. That doesn’t mean he changes in size. It means we discover just how big he has always been. That has been our hope for you these past few months as we’ve studied Hebrews: that as you’ve grown in your faith and relationship with Jesus that you have found him bigger. This week we come to the final chapter of this magnificent book. See you on Sunday.
